Description: This workshop focuses on preventing partner and family abuse by building external support and strengthening community ties. Highlights include creative strategies like structured incentives, breaking isolation through new connections, involving professionals for accountability, and encouraging reparation and healing. Emphasis is placed on addressing the root causes of violence and supporting long-term family stability.

Syllabus Description: Madanes will present a series of strategies for the prevention of the recurrence of spouse and partner abuse of different degrees of severity. The strategies will be illustrated with videos of actual therapy sessions.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To list three strategies for the prevention of spouse and partner abuse.
  2. To describe three ways of engaging extended family in the prevention of spouse and partner abuse.
