The focus will be on the cognitive-behavioral treatment of affective disorders (anxiety, depression, and anger). Such procedures as cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and stress inoculation training will be examined.

Educational Objectives:

  1. To understand the biopsychosocial perspective of affective disorders that underlies cognitive-behavioral interventions
  2. To learn how specific cognitive-behavioral procedures can be used to treat patients who experience affective disorders
