Therapeutic rapport is prerequisite not only to hypnosis but also to most forms of intervention. In this workshop, participants will learn strategies not commonly taught, such as how to develop a sincere interest in the well-being of clients whom you initially dislike, how to recognize and respond to the strength/fragility of the client's ego and when to use confrontation as a method of building trust and mutual respect.
Educational Objectives:
- To describe the history and research related to rapport and Erickson's method of increasing rapport.
- To describe the skills necessary to create therapeutic relations with a variety of individuals.

Dan Short, PhD Related Seminars and Products
Dan Short, Ph.D, is internationally recognized for his work in Ericksonian hypnosis and short-term therapy. He devotes most of his time to a private practice in Scottsdale, AZ, while also writing and teaching to professional audiences around the globe. His training is diverse, having graduated with a Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 1993, a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; followed by an internship at an APA accredited program in Houston Texas.
