Many women are in a couple ship riddled with deception, lies, and false perceptions as a result of her partner’s compulsive sexual acting out. Dr. Black will describe the dynamics of co-sex addiction and the role of family of origin issues in thispartnership. She will address early stabilization issues as sell as treatment and recovery issues.
This workshop will introduce participants to some of the basics of Relational Life Therapy™, a truth-driven therapeutic approach. Participants will learn how to speak with radical precision and honesty to their clients about what they're doing to de-rail their relationships. You will learn how to "join through the truth" in a way that feels both profoundly respectful and compassionate while, at the same time, pulling no punches. We will look at gathering leverage, separating the person from their behavior, looking at the particular issues of grandiosity, and how to enlist a coalition with the adult part of the client.
Lies and deception wreak havoc in couples' relationships. To work successfully with couples after significant betrayal, the therapist must use attachment and differentiation-based interventions. Learn to identify three patterns of deception; when deception can be repaired and when it can't; and what is the essence of successful repair.
